Residents of the Palms geriatric institution and children under state care were the latest recipients of gifts bestowed by the New York Guyana Medical & Humanitarian Mission (NYGM) during a recently-concluded visit by the group to Guyana.Supplies and goodies were donated to the Child Care and Protection Agency, some state homes and the Palms, including clothing, toys and equipment.NYGM members pay a courtesy call on Human Services Minister, Jennifer Webster.“It’s the group’s way of adding a little sunshine to the lives of the children and older citizens. We have been hosting humanitarian and medical outreaches to Guyana for years now and plan to expand during the next visit,” said Vice President of NYGM, Ms. Holly Persaud.The group also regularly donates to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation. She explained that the group’s interventions are based on the needs highlighted during its interaction with government, civil society and some non-governmental organizations in Guyana.The NYGM, comprising New York-based Guyanese,Cheap NFL jerseys China, is a charitable organization incorporated in the State of New York. The mission is funded by the group’s members and friends. Group members volunteer their services and this year the visiting team included Drs.
